I want to mention the sound too, since it’s terrific. Seems like there’d be no real reason it couldn’t be ironed out. It’ll be interesting, as we get further into post-launch if that’s addressed in a patch. Kind of strange honestly, especially in contrast to the rest of the experience. I noticed a decent amount of popup here and there. If you missed the previous section, don’t make a habit of that.īut that’s not to say that the game is flawless. At times it’s tempting to gawk at the scenery instead of paying attention to the road (or what passes for one). Courses are gorgeous, decked out in natural beauty. Playing on an Xbox Series X, WRC 9 both looks and sounds great. As I mentioned before, one of WRC 9’s strengths are its varied locales, and the game knows how to show ’em off. This is a pretty darn good-looking racer. One thing I thought was pretty great in WRC 9 immediately after starting it up, are the graphics. So you can tweak your car to your liking, directly affecting gameplay, as you traverse the campaign. Again, if you have a good deal of time invested in the sub-genre though, I’d imagine you’ll have no time sliding (is that another pun?) right into this one.Īs you might imagine, almost everything is customizable and upgradable in WRC 9 as well. Oh, and hairpin turns? Yes, lots.įortunately the controls in WRC 9 are quite good, they just take a little while to get used. It’s stunningly easy to careen off a hill, or spin out and find yourself facing the wrong direction (there’s an emergency respawn feature for that). Rally racing, particularly in the rougher elements but even on more sedate courses, can be a harrowing experience. That’s a really good thing, since again, this is pretty unique racing that does take time to adjust to. You can set the difficulty, as well as the levels of damage that can happen to your cars, and how that affects gameplay. WRC 9 asks you what kind of experience you have with rally titles right at the start. Still, everything from the makeup of your cars, to your sponsors and paying attention to your ever-endangered relationship with them, is in the game. That’s in addition to basically running a whole racing company, though it isn’t as daunting as that probably sounds. Your crew is a game unto itself, as you’ll have to manage them. In between those is a chance to put your pit crew to work, fixing damage to your vehicle. Rally events are set up over the course of several days, with events taking place in a staged manner. While we’re taking about what makes this so different, know too that the rally system itself is a unique breed. If you’re not getting the drift (pardon the pun), the races in the rally world don’t exactly get called on account of rain. Play goes from sorta-controlled on-track settings, to ‘extreme weather’ conditions. Though there thankfully is a tutorial, the game throws gamers into a little of everything right from the jump. This is something that’s apparent from the very beginning of the game, and WRC 9 doesn’t ease players who might not be used to its mechanics (like me) into anything. Its brand is tough, rough, and takes place in all-elements. That’s pretty straightforward genre stuff, though as mentioned above, World Rally Championship 9’s races aren’t what you might be used to. Like all racing games, the point in WRC 9 is to hit the finish line with the best time, or before your opponents. Still, it was a bit of a trial by fire, and you’ll see what I meanly that. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, since it certainly presented something very different for me to review. As such, I had a rude awakening with WRC 9, the latest in the highly-regarded World Rally Championship series. Start your enginesĪre you a racing game fan? And if you are, do you dig titles the lean a little more to the arcade like the Forza series, or the more sim-like stuff like Gran Turismo?Īctually let’s go a little deeper still, because there’s another variable I’m going to throw at you – have you ever played a sim-tilted racer that was off road, rally style? I ask because there’s a huge difference in the gameplay you might be unaware of.įor me, it had been years and years since I’d played a rally title, and I honestly forgot what it was like. If you want to learn how to enable Crossfade in Apple Music, we have a step-by-step guide for you. Crossfade blends the end of one song with the beginning of another, eliminating the gap between tracks. Then you can follow this simple guide to create a Siri Shortcut to do things. I also exposed port forwarding for port 8123 to my Synology so I can reach Home Assistant externally. Meanwhile, Apple Music has introduced a new feature called Crossfade that allows users to enjoy a more seamless listening experience. I have a UniFi router and use it to configure a URL with Dynamic DNS for my house (and I’m not going to tell you what that is :P). Users can update their devices to iOS 17 by going to Settings then General and then to Software Update. The new feature is part of Apple’s efforts to enhance the customization and accessibility of the Lock Screen in iOS 17. If you would like to be able to control your new shortcut with Siri or from the home screen then click the icon at the top right and click either add to sir, add to home screen, or both. For example, on an iPhone 14 Pro with an always-on display, the screen will dim and only show the time and date. Add the shortcut to Siri or the home screen. When the shortcut is activated, the screen will either blacken or dim depending on the iPhone model. Once on the integrations page, you will see a list of the currently installed integrations. From there, click on 'Integrations' to go to the next screen. To begin, open the Home Assistant (HASS) panel and navigate to the 'Configuration' page via the sidebar. Alternatively, you can ask Siri to run the shortcut by saying “Hey Siri, run the shortcut Lock Screen”. There is also a way to do that, but we will cover that in another article. Step 4: Tap the share icon at the bottom of the screen and choose Add to Home Screen to create a Home Screen button for their shortcut. Step 3: Customize the shortcut by giving it a name, an icon, and a colour. The Lock Screen option will appear under the Scripting section, and users can tap it to add it to their shortcut. But regardless of how long your vehicle’s manufacturer provides factory warranty coverage, it will eventually end, meaning you’ll be on the hook financially for any repairs - unless you get an extended warranty. Depending on the automaker, some factory warranty coverages can go up to 10 years/100,000 miles. Each covers different vehicle components and will last for a different amount of time, such as a bumper-to-bumper warranty typically lasting anywhere from 3 years/36,000 miles, while powertrain coverage usually lasts for 5 years/60,000 miles. However, depending on your automaker, this warranty coverage will vary in terms of coverage and length.įor example, many automakers will provide owners with bumper-to-bumper and powertrain warranty coverage. These warranties are designed to protect you from repairs caused by issues during the manufacturing process. When purchasing a brand new car directly from a dealership, you will usually have the protection of a warranty provided by the manufacturer, aka a manufacturer’s or factory warranty. Why Get a Quote for an Extended Warranty? And without the help of your vehicle’s factory warranty, you could be left paying for these repairs yourself.īy getting a quote for an extended auto warranty or a vehicle service contract, like a vehicle protection plan from Endurance, you can find the breakdown protection your car needs for unexpected and costly repairs. But when it comes to hitting the open road, even the most reliable or well-maintained vehicles can experience a breakdown. Whether it’s to visit friends or family, a quick trip to the store, or you’re off on a long road trip, having a vehicle you can rely on is essential during the spring and summer months. $9 off, which is about the same amount in savings. I have a similar test running where I’m doing 20% off vs. Here’s another quick example of this strategy from one of my other products: Here are the results from the split test on my post-purchase upsell of Boomstick Color.Įven though I made slightly less from each person who accepted the dollar amount compared to those who accept the percentage off, the test shows that the dollar amount offer generated 60¢ more per person who visited the offer page - a 13.59% conversion rate on the dollar amount vs. 23.80 for the percentage amount).īut again, everything else on the page besides the discount is exactly the same. So the price difference is a little more in this test - $22 for the dollar amount vs. On the other page in the test, I’m making essentially the same offer but saying, “…and get $6 off.” I’m saying, “ Hey, add another Boomstick Color to your order and get 15% off.” So they would pay $23.80 instead of $28. The second test is also for Boomstick Color, but this time it’s a post-purchase upsell. This pre-purchase upsell strategy is working really well. They get a small discount and in return I get a much higher order value. Unlike the last upsell that added another product to their order, this upsell actually replaces the product they have in their cart with a new item with a higher price point. When someone buys my second most popular product (Boomstick Color), I offer them to upgrade to a bundle. Upsell Split Test #2Īnother quick aside before I jump into this next split test: I want to show you a pre-purchase upsell strategy I’m using right now. So even though the discount is basically the same, the dollar amount discount is perceived at a higher value - pretty interesting!īut was it a fluke? I did another split test to see if the results would be the same. The dollar amount offer is making me 20 ¢ more per person for everyone who visits this post-purchase upsell offer page. So which offer did better? Split Test #1 Results (You actually save a little more with 21% off.)īesides the discount, the content on these upsell offer pages is identical: I have long-form left-right content, a call-to-action button, and then a second buy box with a timer. a percentage discount, and it’s pretty much the same value. So this split test is comparing a dollar amount discount vs. Then in another variation I’m saying, “Hey, would you like to get one more at $16.50 off?” (Below) In one variation of my upsell offer page I’m saying, “Hey, would you like to get one more of the product you just bought at a 21% savings?” (Right) This is a post-purchase upsell, and instead of offering customers a different product like in the upsell above, I’m simply offering one more of what they just bought but at a discount. Okay, now here’s the split test I’m talking about that is just destroying: And this pre-purchase upsell is performing really well. We’re not running a split test on this offer right now, but we do know that when you offer an upsell on your most popular product, it’s always a good strategy to offer your second most popular product. We’re simply saying, “Hey would you like to add an additional item to your order?” My top-performing upsell funnel is for my #1 product, Boomstick Trio.īut before getting into this split test, I want to show you a pre-purchase upsell we’re running for this product directly on the cart page. I’m actually running an exciting split test right now on my Shopify upsell funnels, and I think everyone should see this because it’s absolutely crushing. Here’s a screenshot from the backend of the legacy OCU app (no longer available), where you can see that my store made almost $4.8 million in upsells: In November 2020, the new-and-improved OCU Native launched in the Shopify App Store, and in just one month it made my store over $365,000 in extra revenue. How have I been able to generate so much upsell revenue? One of the reasons is because I’m always running split tests on my pre-purchase and post-purchase upsell funnels. (Actually my store has made $4.8 million, but we don’t have a belt for that yet!) This belt means I’ve made $1 million in upsell revenue with Zipify OneClickUpsell, my upsell and cross-sell app for Shopify. Hey!
